Troy Herfoss Performance is operated by Troy Herfoss Racing Pty Ltd (ABN 73 616 323 418), based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website we collect the details you enter in the form:
- your name, email address and phone number
- the name of a parent or guardian, where the rider is under 18
- the rider’s or athlete’s age and location
- racing background, such as bike, class, championship, years racing and current coaching or training support
- what you want help with and what you want to achieve
If you become a client we may also collect information needed to work with you. This can include training data, fitness and performance records, race results, video or data from the motorcycle, and details of injuries or health matters that you choose to share because they affect training or riding. Health information is sensitive information, and we collect it only with your consent.
We do not use this website to collect payment details.
Riders under 18
Many developing riders are under 18. If the rider is under 18, a parent or guardian should send the enquiry and must consent to us collecting and using the rider’s information. We communicate with a parent or guardian about mentoring arrangements for riders under 18.
Why we collect it
- to reply to your enquiry and assess whether we are the right fit
- to recommend and deliver mentoring and training support
- to manage our relationship with you, including scheduling and invoicing
- to meet our legal obligations
We do not sell personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the business:
- Service providers. Our website host (Netlify), email provider and any training or scheduling software we use to deliver our services.
- People you ask us to involve. For example your team, a parent or guardian, or another coach or health professional, with your consent.
- Authorities. Where the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. By sending an enquiry you consent to your information being stored and processed overseas by these providers.
We do not name clients publicly, or publish their results, images or testimonials, without their permission.
How we store and protect it
Enquiries are stored by our website host and in our business email account. Client records are kept in password-protected accounts that only we can access. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.
Website analytics and cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our host records standard technical information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
